The magnet is more than strong enough to hold the connector in place during Hard 3D however during a crash, the connector could come disconnected.

If using a glow igniter which has anti-chicken dance to blow the plug in the event of a chicken dance, if the connector has disconnected then it is useless!

The set screw fixes this by securing the glow plug to the Link connector. The tool is then used to screw the glow plug/link connector assembly into the engine.
